Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Tournament Volunteer

A rare opportunity to volunteer at an international sporting event, right here in Waltham Forest!

Waltham Forest Council is excited to be hosting the CEV (European Volleyball Federation) Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Round One tournament on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May 2019. This international event will be hosted at the Feel Good Too facility in Leyton (1 Pavilion Walk E10 5UE).

This international event is an Olympic qualifying route to Tokyo 2020 and a fantastic opportunity for residents to see some world-class sport for free up to 12 matches with both men’s and women’s teams will be played all day each day. There’ll be a fun, family friendly atmosphere and while local residents will come along, we also expect there will be attendees from the Beach Volleyball community nationally and ex-pat groups from the overseas nations taking part. The women’s teams are France, England, Belarus and Northern Ireland, and the men’s teams are Switzerland, England, Armenia and Bulgaria.

Your role as a Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Tournament Volunteer will include:

•Wayfinding and providing directions to visitors as needed
•Welcome visitors to the event creating an inviting and friendly atmosphere
•Provide general information about the event, teams and match times to audience members
•Answer any questions visitors may have
•Provide visitors with information about future London Borough of Culture events
•Ad hoc tasks that arise and are in line with volunteer tasks, such as supporting staff in the London Borough of Culture Information Tent

Beach Volleyball Information Hub Volunteers will be able to improve their teamwork and communication skills, as well as building their confidence by speaking to members of the public.

An on-the-day briefing will take place before your shift begins at the Feel Good Too Centre (1 Pavilion Walk E10 5UE). You will be informed if your application has been successful on Friday 17 May.

Volunteers will have access all weekend to the beach volley ball events whilst they are not on their shift.

A willingness to work with peers, engage with the public, be friendly and smile!
